Job summary

Alberta Health Services in St. Albert is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to join the Home Living/Home Care team. The LPN provides safe, high quality nursing care in clients’ homes, observes, reports and documents changes, and assists with daily living activities while educating patients and families.

The position is Regular Part Time (FTE 0.72) with travel to suburban/rural West teams as required. Eligible for registration with CLPNA and BCLS-HCP certification are required.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program.
• Active or eligible for registration and a practice permit as an LPN with CLHA.
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to balance numerous demands and conflicting priorities.
• Strong communication and assessment skills; compassionate care approach.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high quality, patient-and family-centred nursing care.
• Observe, monitor, report and document changes in client condition.
• Assist clients with activities of daily living and teaching as needed.
• Collaborate with interprofessional health-care team to ensure consistent care.
