Job summary

Tim Hortons Foundation Camps helps youth from underserved communities achieve their full potential through multiyear overnight camp experiences. Job Summary

The InCommunity Program Specialist supports the planning, direction, implementation, and supervision of Tims Camps' Community Programs, which take place at schools and/or community group spaces within their designated region. The role involves ensuring participants have a positive, high-quality program experience for long-term impact, with a focus on effective facilitation and delivery. The Specialist applies their knowledge of youth development, outdoor and experiential education, program quality systems, and coaching to provide guidance and support to their team and the youth served.

Work Location

Ontario: Daily travel is required within the assigned geographic area (London, Sarnia, Chatham). The role is primarily remote from the assigned area, with potential travel beyond the primary region.

Employment Type

This is a full-time, permanent position. It may include a temporary seasonal layoff each year, typically between July and August, based on operational needs.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop, review, and improve engaging, innovative programs aligned with outcomes and quality frameworks.
  2. Foster a culture of innovation and creativity in program delivery.
  3. Facilitate programs based on Tims Camps standards and procedures.
  4. Evaluate programs using the TIMpact365 measurement strategy.
  5. Provide guidance that celebrates diversity and supports participant success.
  6. Recognize and engage participants, supporting their contributions and achievements.
  7. Assist with behavior management and support staff and educators.
  8. Contribute to digital and social media efforts for youth engagement.
  9. Support scheduling, inventory, and documentation tasks with team leads.
  10. Complete reports and maintain Salesforce practices.
  11. Communicate with parents, guardians, and schools as needed.
Customer Service
  1. Collaborate in program planning and delivery.
  2. Demonstrate facilitation and group management skills.
  3. Maintain a hospitable, customer service-oriented presence in the community.
  4. Support engagement initiatives and work with communications teams.
  5. Ensure safety and readiness of activity spaces and equipment.
  6. Complete administrative duties and support cross-functional tasks.
  7. Build positive relationships with educational stakeholders.
  8. Implement safety standards and protocols, including emergency response training.
Qualifications
  • University or college degree in Education, Outdoor Experiential Education, or related field; B.Ed. considered an asset.
  • Strong communication, organization, and project management skills.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working with children/youth, preferably in outdoor or educational settings.
  • Experience in behavior management and problem solving.
  • Valid G Class Driver’s License and access to a personal vehicle.
  • Ability to work independently, with a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
  • Current First Aid/CPR certification is an asset.
  • Legal eligibility to work in Canada and ability to pass a criminal background check.
  • Bilingual in French and English is an asset.
