Job summary

The Nova Scotia Health Authority Western Zone, Eastern Kings Memorial Community Health Centre, seeks Health Support Aides to support the Public Health Mobile Unit (PHMU) team. The role requires lifting, travel between sites, basic client care, IPAC support, and inventory preparation.

Casual relief with no guaranteed hours, $20.74–$22.65 hourly, and a comprehensive benefits package. Applicants should have Grade 12, strong communication, and a valid NS driver's license with access to a vehicle.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 education required.
• Ability to lift and transfer heavy loads (>18 kg).
• Strong interpersonal, teamwork and communication skills.
• Customer-focused approach with diversity-sensitive care.
• Strong communication and conflict-resolution abilities.
• Foreign language skills are an asset.
• Flexibility, adaptability and willingness to change.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, OneDrive and Outlook.
• Valid NS Class 5 driver's license and vehicle access for travel.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day Mobile Unit operations.
• Travel across Nova Scotia for community locations.
• Provide basic client care and IPAC support.
• Prepare and maintain equipment and supplies inventory.
• Assist with post-immunization observations and other tasks.
