Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for effective instruction, training and evaluation of pupils in assigned subjects and report progress to the principal on request.
  • Carry out supervisory duties and the instructional program assigned by the principal and provide related information when required.
  • Co-operate fully with other teachers and the principal in the instruction of pupils.
  • Be present in the classroom and ensure the teaching area is ready before classes begin.
  • Assist the principal in maintaining community relations and engagement.
  • Prepare teaching plans and outlines for use in the classroom and submit them when required.
  • Ensure all reasonable safety procedures are followed in courses and activities.
  • Co-operate with the principal and other teachers to maintain consistent disciplinary practices.
  • Ensure report cards are completed and processed according to the provincial guides.
