Job summary

Sources seeks an Infant Development Consultant to join our IDP team in Newton on a 35-hour week contract until March 31, 2027. The role involves direct and outreach services to families with young children, guided by family-centered practice.

Ideal candidate holds a bachelor's degree in psychology, education, child and youth care or related field, has a valid Class 5 driver's license and their own vehicle, and demonstrates strong communication and collaboration skills.

Qualifications

  • Holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology, education, child and youth care or another related discipline. Mandatory
  • Holds a valid Class 5 Driver’s License and own vehicle. Mandatory
  • A strong desire to continue to learn and advance developmental, assessment and service delivery skills.
  • A strong understanding and ability to provide community based, family centered services.
  • The ability to work within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills.
  • Provides trauma informed, culturally safe services to all clients, regardless of race, ethnicity or socioeconomic status.

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct and indirect services for the designated caseload.
  • Assists families in identifying and supporting the needs of the child and family.
  • Supports families in accessing appropriate materials and resources as required.
  • Ensures client files and other documentation are kept accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Engages in ongoing learning in relation to practice standards, the community and the organization
  • Creating and maintaining a safe and welcoming environment within the organization, and addressing any instances of discrimination, harassment or other forms of harmful behaviour that don’t support the principals of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belongingness and perspectives and applying this knowledge to your work.
