Job description

Veterinary Specialist - Small Animal Internal Medicine

We are seeking a Board-Certified or Residency-Trained (Board-Eligible) Veterinary Internal Medicine Specialist to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a collaborative and dynamic environment, providing advanced care to small animal patients.

  1. Evaluate and treat patients, develop treatment plans, and supervise the veterinary team for internal medicine cases, including routine, specialist, and emergency cases.
  2. Collaborate with other veterinary specialties, including the Emergency Department.
  3. Perform and oversee internal medicine procedures.
  4. Lead and mentor an Internal Medicine team of 3-5 technicians and assistants.
  5. Contribute to the continuous improvement of the quality of care provided to our patients.
  6. Assist in recommending and maintaining equipment for the Internal Medicine Department.
  7. Help implement tools and processes to enhance patient care and client communication.

Qualifications:

  1. Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent.
  2. Proven experience in Internal Medicine, particularly in leading a specialized team.
  3. Fluency in English; bilingual candidates (French and English) are encouraged to apply.
  4. Eligible for licensure to practice veterinary medicine in Ontario, as issued by the College of Veterinarians of Ontario.
  5. Member in good standing with the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM) or European College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ECVIM).
