Immigration Lawyer (Mississauga)
Job description
Our client is a fast-growing firm based in Mississauga. They are currently seeking a talented and experienced Immigration Lawyer with at least 3 years of post-call experience. The candidate must be able to prepare a wide variety of Canadian immigration applications, both temporary and permanent, and be familiar with the required process for submitting applications at port of entry, inland case processing centers, and overseas visa offices.
Your new role
In this new role you will be responsible for carrying a full case load focusing primarily on Immigration matters as well as coordinating the application process, including evaluating applications to identify category qualifications, researching the processes and requirements for different types of applications. You will be required to prepare submission packages for both basic and complex cases and submitting to various government agencies. In this role you will also aid with the client intake process and respond to both basic and complex client inquiries to ensure that applications are processed, and any challenges are anticipated and taken care of. You will also advise clients on COVID-19 related travel restrictions and quarantine requirements, and prepare applications for applicable exemptions (including for specialized technicians, essential workers, and national interest exemptions).
What you will need to succeed
To be considered for this position, you must have a minimum of 3 years’ post-call experience, with knowledge in Immigration Law. You can work well under pressure, manage priorities, and meet deadlines. You will also have strong teamwork skills, be trustworthy, accountable, proactive, and have a positive work attitude. In addition, you have membership in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
