About the Opportunity

The IM/IT Lead plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of healthcare infrastructure through cutting-edge technology and forward-thinking redevelopment initiatives by providing technical oversight and subject matter expertise related to specific application areas. Reporting to the IM/IT Redevelopment Program Manager you will lead the technical implementation of the build/configuration and changes/enhancements for assigned clinical applications in collaborative partnership with other IM/IT Leads and Managers. As part of the Nova Health IM/IT team, you will work on high-impact projects that will help shape the future of healthcare delivery across the province.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead and guide a dynamic team of IMIT professionals in the development and execution of redevelopment projects ensuring that all activities within your responsible area are supported by the NSH IM/IT business plan, established policies/procedures, and in line with service level agreements between NSH, IWK and the department of health.
  • Drive the strategic planning and implementation of IT solutions that modernize healthcare facilities and services.
  • Commit to a high standard of performance and provide support across the organization to leverage IT applications in support of NSH’s and its client’s strategic mission, vision, and goals.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership, clinicians, and cross-functional teams to ensure projects align with healthcare needs and patient care goals.
  • Manage the end-to-end redevelopment project lifecycle—from concept to completion—ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Implement innovative technological solutions to enhance operational efficiencies, improve patient care, and support the redevelopment of key healthcare facilities.
  • Oversee the integration of technology with new infrastructure, ensuring smooth transitions during redevelopments.
  • Perform a variety of tasks, including but not limited to, coordination of resources and stakeholders; managing timelines, financial requirements and milestones; documenting outcomes; and, monitoring, summarizing, and communicating the progress of activities.
  • Manage key relationships and provide regular updates to leadership on project progress, risks, and successes.
About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
• Undergraduate degree in Computer Science Information systems or health related field. Consideration may be given to those with equivalent training and work experience
• Minimum of 3- 5 years of experience in Clinical Application implementation, previous Lead experience preferred
• Project Management and change management certification would be considered an asset
• Experience supporting clinical applications systems and related services in a complex health care organizational environment considered an asset
• Proficiency in various programming and clinical application reporting tools
• Proficient knowledge of healthcare industry required; familiarity with clinical and administrative hospital functions and departments preferred
• Strong analytical, organizational and problem solving skills with the ability to multi-task to meet tight deadlines
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Experience in leading teams of staff with indirect accountabilities to other operational units
• Ability to influence and collaborate with diverse stakeholders
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to execute through effective delegation, motivation and oversight
• Experience in data analytics
• Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
• Excellent verbal, written communication and influencing skills
• Clearly communicates NSH vision, mission and values
• Experience in working with patient care leaders

• Ability to lead and direct software upgrades
• Knowledge of disaster recovery and backup procedures
• Demonstrated ability to establish and build strong working relationships
• Strong communication skills-written and oral and the ability to present in large groups
• Ability to demonstrate project management, customer service and support skills, and ability to escalate and contribute to resolving issues accordingly
• Proficient with MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS Work, MS Visio and MS Power-Point

Hours

Compensation and Benefits

$40.95 - $51.19 Hourly

Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
