Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current Florida CRT license.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association).
• Graduate of a 2-year radiologic technology program from an accredited school.
• ARRT registry.
• Knowledge of X-ray, DEXA, and Fluoroscopy procedures and protocols; eligible for CT/MRI/Mammography training.
• Knowledge of anatomy, physiology and radiology safety; HIPAA compliance.

Responsibilities

• Verifies prescription matches the procedure and records exam details.
• Explains procedures to patients to reduce anxiety and obtain cooperation.
• Positions patient and adjusts equipment for optimum views.
• Sets exposure factors and moves equipment as needed.
• Processes radiologic images and checks technical quality.
• Ensures exam matches ordered study in PACS and updates billing codes.
• Reviews prior studies with radiologist for assessment.
• Practices radiation protection for patients and staff.
• Stocks supplies, runs QC, and handles daily duties.
