Qualifications

• Experience in digital print production, large-format printing, prepress, or print finishing environments.

Responsibilities

• Oversee prepress and file preparation to ensure print readiness and accuracy.
• Operate digital presses, wide-format printers, and specialty output devices; monitor colour consistency.
• Perform finishing processes (cutting, trimming, folding, binding, laminating, mounting, packaging) and coordinate with shipping.
• Conduct quality control inspections and ensure finished products meet work order specifications; minimize waste.
• Support sales, project management, and production teams; share best practices and contribute to process improvements.

Immediate opening for Imaging Specialist- Pre-press and Production Specialist

The Imaging Specialist- Pre-press and Production Specialist, is responsible for the complete production lifecycle of customer projects, from file preparation and prepress through digital printing, large-format imaging, finishing, fabrication, packaging, and delivery preparation. This role combines technical expertise in prepress, colour management, digital print production, large-format output, and finishing operations to ensure every project meets TPH's quality, accuracy, and service standards. The successful candidate enjoys working in a fast-paced production environment, thrives on problem-solving, takes pride in producing high-quality work, and collaborates effectively with teammates to meet customer deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

Prepress & File Preparation

• Review customer-supplied files to ensure print readiness.
• Perform preflight checks including fonts, image resolution, colour spaces, bleeds, trim marks, and file specifications.
• Troubleshoot and correct file issues prior to production.
• Prepare files using Adobe Creative Suite and Acrobat.
• Manage RIP software and digital front-end workflows.
• Verify job specifications and production requirements before printing.
• Collaborate with Project Advisors and production team members to ensure customer expectations are understood and achievable.

Digital Printing & Imaging

• Operate digital presses, wide-format printers, flatbed printers, and specialty output devices.
• Perform colour calibration and colour correction as required.
• Select appropriate substrates and materials for each application.
• Monitor production output for colour consistency and image quality.
• Maintain production schedules and prioritize work to meet deadlines.
• Perform preventative maintenance and routine troubleshooting on production equipment.
• Monitor consumables inventory and notify management when replenishment is required.

Finishing & Fabrication

• Complete finishing processes including:
  • Cutting
  • Trimming
  • Folding
  • Binding
  • Laminating
  • Mounting
  • Grommeting
  • Weeding
  • Packaging
  • Display assembly
• Operate finishing equipment including cutters, laminators, bindery equipment, digital cutting tables, and fabrication tools.
• Produce finished products according to customer specifications and quality standards.
• Assemble large-format signage, displays, banners, decals, wall graphics, and presentation materials.
• Prepare projects for shipping, installation, or customer pickup.

Quality Assurance

• Conduct quality control inspections throughout all production stages.
• Verify finished products meet work order specifications.
• Identify and resolve production issues before order completion.
• Minimize waste through proactive problem-solving and process adherence.
• Continuously look for opportunities to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency.

Team Support & Collaboration

• Support coworkers across production departments as workload demands.
• Work closely with sales, project management, prepress, and production teams.
• Assist with training and sharing best practices.
• Contribute ideas for new products, production methods, and operational improvements.
• Maintain organized production areas and safe working practices.

Required

Skills and Experience

• Experience in digital print production, large-format printing, prepress, or print finishing environments.
• Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and Adobe Acrobat.
• Strong understanding of digital printing processes and colour management.
• Experience operating digital presses, wide-format printers, or production equipment.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and remain standing for extended periods.

Preferred

• Experience using Fiery, Onyx, EFI, or similar RIP software.
• Knowledge of Pantone Matching System, CMYK, RGB, and colour profiling.
• Experience operating Zünd cutters, CNC equipment, flatbed cutters, or routing equipment.
• Experience in signage, large-format graphics, display fabrication, or commercial printing.
• Knowledge of offset printing processes and production workflows.
