Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.

Position Overview
Experience
  • Experience in general office procedures is required.
  • Previous experience using the Radiology Information System (RIS) preferred.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
  • Complete high school education, Manitoba Standards, required.
  • Completion of a recognized course in Medical Terminology is required.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Ability to effectively type at a minimum of 30 wpm in a VGH typing test.
  • Effective English communication skills (both oral and written) and excellent interpersonal skills are required.
  • Must have good organizational skills, be able to prioritize demands and accomplish multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Must demonstrate a high degree of accuracy.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact effectively and maintain a positive working relationship with various levels of personnel, both internally and externally, and within an inter-disciplinary environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the position on a regular basis. Proficiency in keyboarding and "windows based" computers system is required.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to stand or walk for extended periods of time without resting.
  • Must be able to bend, reach, lift and carry materials up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to function effectively in a stressful environment with frequent interruptions.
  • May be asked to escort mobile patients to other areas of the hospital.
