The IGSF is seeking eligible candidates for Teaching Assistant positions in the Fall 2025 term.

Applicants must be registered students in a McGill MA or PhD graduate program in Fall 2025.

Hiring Unit: Institute for Gender, Sexuality, and Feminist Studies

Courses and Positions:

  • GSFS 250 Sexual and Gender Diversity Studies (3 positions, 180 hours each)
  • GSFS 304 Postcolonial Feminist Theory (1 position, 90 hours)

Note: Postings are tentative, pending final course offerings and enrollments.

Estimated Number of Positions: Four

Position Responsibilities:

  • Instruction in conference sections
  • Student consultation and office hours
  • Attendance in lectures (as required)
  • Grading papers and exams
  • Consultation with course instructor
  • Preparation of course materials

Qualifications:

  • Previous study in the course subject area
  • Strong academic performance
  • Suitable teaching skills

Hourly Salary: $37.34

Total Hours of Work per Term: 180 or 90 hours depending on assignment

Position Dates: August 27, 2025 – January 2, 2026
