Job summary

SGS seeks an Ignition SCADA Specialist to design, implement, and support modern SCADA solutions for oil & gas, utilities, and manufacturing clients across North America. You will build Ignition-based HMIs, configure MQTT edge ecosystems, and contribute to greenfield and migration projects.

This role advances toward senior specialist responsibilities through a structured technical pathway, with travel to client facilities and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, or related technical discipline.
• 4–10 years of hands-on experience with SCADA, IIoT, or industrial control systems.
• Experience developing HMI and operator interfaces on a modern SCADA platform — Ignition preferred.
• Working knowledge of MQTT and Sparkplug B in industrial contexts.

Responsibilities

• Configure, develop, and test Ignition SCADA systems (Perspective and Vision) for client projects across greenfield builds, expansions, and platform migrations.
• Develop and maintain HMI screens, dashboards, alarm displays, and operator interfaces following modern HMI design principles.
• Build and maintain Ignition tag structures, UDTs, alarm configurations, and historical data pipelines.
• Develop scripting in Python/Jython within Ignition for gateway events and expressions.
