Job summary

Streamline Control is seeking an Ignition SCADA Specialist with strong Ignition platform expertise to design, implement, and support modern SCADA solutions for clients in oil and gas, utilities, and manufacturing.

You will be part of a growing Modern SCADA practice — building Ignition-based HMI and dashboard applications, configuring MQTT and edge ecosystems, and contributing to greenfield and migration projects from legacy SCADA platforms.

Qualifications

• 4–10 years of hands-on experience with SCADA, IIoT, or industrial control systems.
• Demonstrated experience developing HMI and operator interfaces on Ignition (Perspective or Vision)
• Working knowledge of MQTT and Sparkplug B in industrial contexts.
• Working knowledge of Modbus, OPC UA, EtherNet/IP, DNP3.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (Python/Jython, C#, or Java) within Ignition.
• Experience with relational databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL) and Ignition integration.
• Willingness to travel to client facilities across western Canada, and beyond.

Responsibilities

• Configure, develop, and test Ignition SCADA systems (Perspective and Vision) for client projects including greenfield builds and migrations.
• Develop and maintain HMI screens, dashboards, alarms, and operator interfaces following modern design principles.
• Build Ignition tag structures, UDTs, alarm configurations, and data pipelines.
• Develop Python/Jython scripts for gateway events and tag logic.
• Configure MQTT-based architectures using Ignition modules and Sparkplug B.
• Implement Ignition Edge for remote deployments and data delivery.
• Collaborate with controls engineers on tag mapping and data flow validation.
• Support project delivery with FAT/SAT procedures and as-built records.
• Travel to client facilities as required.
