Job description

On behalf of our Public Sector Client, Ignite Technical Resources is recruiting for a Graphic Designer to join our Client's team on a Contract basis. This role is Hybrid (details TBD) and the Client is based in Vancouver, BC.


Summary of the Role:
The Graphic Designer will provide expert-level graphic and digital design support to a creative team, producing visual assets for marketing, internal communication, and social media channels. The successful candidate will support ongoing design needs during a team transition period and contribute to maintaining the organization’s visual identity.


Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Design and produce a variety of internal and external materials, including brochures, newsletters, digital ads, videos, and signage, aligning with brand standards.
  2. Interpret creative briefs and collaborate with stakeholders to determine project scope, objectives, and timelines.
  3. Utilize Adobe Creative Suite to create and edit original artwork, illustrations, and multimedia assets.
  4. Manage digital assets and maintain version control of files in a collaborative, server-based environment.
  5. Coordinate with the Creative Services Manager to ensure timely delivery of design projects.

Core Requirements:

  1. Certificate/Diploma in Graphic Design, Digital Design, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  2. Minimum four (4) years of experience in graphic or digital design, including layout and web publishing.
  3. Proficiency with Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat, and After Effects on Macintosh workstations.
  4. Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, production-oriented setting.
  5. Strong portfolio showcasing design capabilities in a professional context.

Desired Skills & Experience:

  1. Experience with Figma, Adobe Dimension, and Adobe Premiere.
  2. Background in designing HTML5 digital ads and motion graphics.
  3. Skills in 3D design and video editing.
  4. PowerPoint design expertise.
  5. Experience collaborating with multi-disciplinary creative teams.

Terms:
This is a 6-month contract position. The work arrangement is hybrid, with specific onsite days to be determined. Candidates must use their own laptops and may be subject to security checks prior to starting. The Client is open to considering remote candidates within Canada, but preference will be given to those located near Vancouver and able to work PST hours.
