• A Manitoba Teacher's Certificate or eligibility for teacher certification in the Province of Manitoba.
• A Resource Teacher Certificate or willingness to work towards such certification.
• Experience preparing SSP (Student Specific Plans), and related documentation will be considered an asset.
• Experience working with IDEAL students and Alternative Programs.
• Willingness to implement life skills programming.
• Familiarity with directives outlined in The Standards for Appropriate Educational Programming in Manitoba.
• A working knowledge of intellectual, medical, physical and psychological disabilities and their implications.
• The knowledge to design, implement and evaluate instructional programs that enhance personal development and increase the general quality of life.
• Knowledge of K-12 Manitoba Curriculum and cross-curricular planning.
• The ability to work well with teachers in a collaborative and consultative environment.
• The ability to manage, schedule and oversee educational assistant's daily tasks.
• The ability to implement individual student's transportation plans.
• Strong leadership abilities, demonstrated professional commitment and above average interpersonal skills.
