Job description

Summary :

The Senior Broker will develop and market customer business to various insurance carriers, obtaining quotes based on thorough evaluations and analyses of clients' insurance needs within specific industry client Portfolio. This role involves assessing and negotiating quotes, developing recommendations and advising clients on optimal insurance solutions to mitigate risks and ensure comprehensive coverage.

Key Job Responsibilities :

  • Conduct property / machinery risk assessments, from baseline to comprehensive evaluations of client operations, exposures, and business interruption risks. This includes location surveys, desktop reviews, project consulting, supply chain planning, maintenance programs, and post-loss investigations
  • Evaluate clients' insurance requirements by analyzing their operations, risk exposures and coverage needs
  • Identify and approach suitable insurance carriers, presenting clients' profiles to obtain competitive quotes tailored to their specific industry risks
  • Assess and negotiate quotes from different carriers based on exposure, risk, and financing to secure the best terms for clients
  • Provide clients with risk management advice, including recommendations on coverage options and policy limits
  • Facilitate the placement of insurance policies, ensuring all documentation is accurate and complies with regulatory standards
  • Maintain and strengthen relationships with clients, carriers, and other stakeholders to ensure ongoing satisfaction and address any emerging needs
  • Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes within the Client Portfolio industry to provide informed advice to clients

Location :

Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary or Montreal Office (Hybrid Working Model in place 3 days in office)

Salary Range :

Competitive plus Bonus (Based on Experience) with option to be granted Partnership Privately Held Shares upon Future Succession which pays Lucrative Quarterly Dividends

Requirements :

  • Degree in Business, Finance, Insurance or experience equivalent
  • 6 - 8 years + of experience in insurance brokerage
  • Licensed as Insurance Broker with RIBO
  • Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker (CAIB), Risk Management Certificate (CRM) and / or Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation are assets
  • Experience with Property & Casualty, Construction / Surety, Transportation, and Logistics would be considered an asset but not a requirement
  • In-depth knowledge of insurance products
  • Strong analytical and negotiating skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Proficiency in insurance software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to manage multiple clients, policies and priorities effectively
