Job summary
ALS in North Vancouver, Canada, is seeking a Laboratory Analyst to independently conduct routine and non-routine analyses of geological samples. The role involves operating AAS, ICP-AES and ICP-MS instruments, QC data checks, data evaluation, and reporting using MS Word and Excel.
The candidate should have a science degree (chemistry preferred) or BC Assayers certification and at least 1 year of analytical chemistry lab experience.
Qualifications
- Recognized Diploma or Degree in Science with a Chemistry concentration preferred, or BC Assayers certification.
- Minimum of 1 year of laboratory experience in analytical chemistry or related field.
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain AAS, ICP-AES and/or ICP-MS instruments.
- Identify and correct QC problems to ensure data quality meets ALS standards.
- Evaluate data with instrument software and GEMS; prepare reports in Word/Excel.
- Prepare dilutions, calibration standards and solutions; test calibration standards.
- Maintain lab inventory, ensure samples tracked and workloads prioritized.
