Job description

The Company
Since 1905, this experienced Toronto based full service builder has been ensuring a professional building process for new residential and commercial projects to renovations and restorations.


Successful applicants must have experience with ICI new build /ground up, and or/hotel, and/or Project Management experience, and or finishing site superintendent experience.

As a Site Superintendent, you will collaborate with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and on-site staff to ensure the successful and timely completion of projects. The Site Superintendent will be responsible for the day-to-day activities on the construction site ensuring high standards of safety, workmanship, and efficiency. Reporting to the Project Manager and Management staff.


Duties
  1. Work closely with the Project Manager, consultants, trade contractors, inspectors, and regulatory agencies to prepare and execute project plans.
  2. Assist in the development of the project schedule and create and implement lookahead schedules to foresee challenges ahead and problem-solve or adjust the projected durations before schedule overruns happen.
  3. Ensure proper maintenance of the job site.
  4. Manage, schedule, and supervise sub-trades and site staff to ensure work is planned and performed efficiently.
  5. Ensure that projects are built according to the contract documents, approved construction plans, specifications, design drawings, applicable codes, and Rochon's strict standard of quality.
  6. Ensure all required inspections are completed and passed by 3rd party agencies, municipal inspectors, consultants, or any party having jurisdiction.
  7. Maintain and submit daily reports to document site progress, inspections, and other occurrences.
  8. Chair subtrade coordination meetings and record and distribute meeting minutes.
  9. Execute our Health & Safety plan which includes completing regular documentation.
  10. Advise senior management of potential problems, work interferences, or schedule difficulties while assisting in circumventing/resolving such conflicts.
  11. Submit Requests For Information as required.
Qualifications
  1. Industrial, Commercial, Institutional (ICI) construction experience required.
  2. Base buildings experience required.
  3. Ability to read and understand drawings and specifications.
  4. Visualize the project, anticipate constructability issues, and provide solutions to the construction plan and schedule.
  5. Schedule, monitor, and forecast resources for optimum efficiency.
  6. Be safety-oriented with a thorough understanding of health and safety requirements and regulations.
  7. Have excellent verbal and written communication/people skills.
  8. Must possess valid certifications in working at heights, first aid, basics of supervising, WHMIS, and supervisor health and safety awareness training.
  9. Ability to travel to site and off-site locations as required.
  10. Gold Seal Certified is an asset.
  11. Experience with Raken Daily Report software is an asset.
  12. Experience with the IHSA COR certification program is an asset.
  13. Solid computer skills required.
  14. Must possess strong time management skills and be initiative-taking.
  15. Ability to work flexible hours as the project schedule demands.

Compensation: $120K-$140K plus benefits
