Job Purpose

As an SSHE Supervisor, you will drive the overall program alongside the SSHE Manager to ensure the NAIC and local site SSHE strategies are implemented and maintained. You will collaborate with external and internal teams to develop and execute SSHE strategies, aiming for sustainable excellence by reducing injuries and environmental impacts, while supporting other departments to meet plant targets. Upholding employee morale and ensuring SSHE compliance are priorities.


Key Responsibilities
  1. Implement and sustain safety, security, and health programs, supporting environmental compliance.
  2. Co-chair the JHSC Management, work with regulatory bodies, and ensure legal compliance on occupational H&S.
  3. Lead the WSIB program.
  4. Manage site safety and security risk programs.
  5. Lead machinery safety initiatives.
  6. Manage contractor and visitor processes.
  7. Maintain emergency response systems.
  8. Oversee permit to work processes and safety performance indicators.
  9. Manage surveillance, access control, alarm, and man-guarding programs.
  10. Support the SSHE Manager in safety initiatives and provide solutions for safety and security issues.
  11. Develop and update SHE procedures and systems.
  12. Ensure incident reporting and investigations are conducted promptly.
  13. Conduct safety audits and maintain safety systems.
  14. Organize safety meetings and audits.
  15. Support process safety and change management programs.
  16. Lead behavioral safety initiatives.
  17. Participate in projects supporting growth and safety standards.
Experiences & Qualifications

Required:

  • University degree in Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Qualifications per local regulatory authorities.
  • Proven analytical and project management skills.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and process improvement.
  • Influencing, presentation, and people management skills.
  • Strong observation and auditing skills.
  • Analytical skills to translate data into actions.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Office tools.
  • Flexible, motivated, and adaptable.
  • Ability to lead in a fast-paced environment.
  • Primarily day shift, with flexibility for off-shift support.

Preferred:

  • 3-5 years in SSHE, process improvement, or related roles.
  • At least 1-year supervisory experience.
  • Advanced degree in Occupational Health & Safety or Environmental Sustainability.
