St. Margaret’s School in Victoria, BC invites applications for an IB PYP Coordinator and Grade 4/5 co-teacher.

This 1.0 FTE position runs Jan 11, 2026 to Dec 17, 2027 to cover a leave of absence, with salary commensurate with placement on the SMS Salary Grid and a dedicated PYP Coordinator stipend of $1,100. The role provides pedagogical leadership, coordination with the IB Regional Office, documentation, and support for teachers to deliver the PYP curriculum.

Qualifications

• Current and valid Teacher Certification through the Teacher Regulation Branch.
• Experience working within an IB learning environment is an asset.
• Experience teaching in the PYP is an asset.
• Strong knowledge of BC curriculum and inquiry-based teaching.

Responsabilités

• Align PYP with IB standards and maintain academic records for evaluation.
• Lead professional learning and coordinate IB/PYP meetings with staff.
• Plan collaborative units and support teachers in delivery of inquiry-based learning.
• Oversee assessment alignment with BC K–5 policy and report design.
• Develop and maintain SMS PYP curriculum documentation and communications.
• Lead the PYP Student Exhibition planning and coordination.
