Job description

Identity & Access Management (IAM) Analyst
Flexible Location, NS

Are you ready for a new career journey at Nova Scotia's largest credit union? Join our dedicated team at East Coast Credit Union, where commitment to community, member satisfaction, and financial excellence are the foundation of everything we do.

East Coast Credit Union is a community-driven financial institution committed to a better banking model. A credit union is like a bank in many ways, but with cooperative ownership and special focus on people, not profits. We redefine the definition of local and bring Nova Scotians from many regions together with honest lending, savings, and investment products. Be part of an organization committed to fostering growth and empowering individuals on our team and in our East Coast community.

Reporting to the Manager, Cybersecurity & Governance, the Identity and Access Management (IAM) Analyst is responsible for the implementation, administration, and continuous improvement of ECCU’s identity governance and access control framework. This role ensures secure, appropriate, and efficient access to systems, applications, and data by enforcing IAM policies, maintaining access controls, and supporting regulatory and cybersecurity compliance requirements.

We offer…
  • Outstanding culture and opportunity to join an engaged and community-focused team.
  • Competitive compensation to commensurate with experience ($67,795.23 – 79,759.41) and benefits with performance-based incentives.
  • Generous benefit package including a Flexible Health and Dental Plan (paid 100% by employer) and up to 9% contribution with employer match in the Defined Contribution Pension Plan.
  • Tuition reimbursement, training, and personal development.
  • Additional employee perks include but not limited to annual wellness credit; reduced rates on employee loans/mortgages and paid volunteer time.
You would…
  • Partner with business units and technology teams to promote awareness, accountability, and adherence to enterprise IAM standards.
  • Support the designation and enablement of departmental access leads to ensure alignment between business requirements and IAM policies.
  • Develop, implement, and enforce IAM policies, standards, and procedures in collaboration with key stakeholders.
  • Conduct access reviews, support audits, and provide reporting to meet regulatory and internal compliance requirements.
  • Strengthen Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) and Privileged Access Management (PAM) frameworks to uphold least-privilege principles.
  • Administer, maintain, and optimize IAM platforms, including directory services (Active Directory, LDAP), Single Sign-On (SSO), Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), and Identity Governance tools.
  • Ensure compliance with authentication and authorization protocols (SAML, OAuth, OpenID Connect) and secure access standards.
  • Monitor, triage, and resolve IAM-related incidents, access requests, and service tickets.
  • Support the maintenance and enhancement of the organization’s cybersecurity framework in partnership with IT and Risk stakeholders.
  • Contribute to cybersecurity policy development, governance practices, and control implementation.
  • Successfully completed a bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, supported by relevant professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CRISC.
  • At least three years of experience managing IAM platforms, SSO/MFA, RBAC/PAM, and identity lifecycle processes, ideally in corporate or financial services environments.
  • Additional designations in identity and access management (e.g., CIAM, CIGA) or vendor-specific credentials (e.g., Microsoft Entra ID, Okta) are considered strong assets.
You are…
  • Familiar with cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001) and financial services regulatory requirements.
  • Experienced with IAM protocols, directory services, Single Sign-On (SSO), Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), and identity governance platforms.

Please note that all offers of employment are conditional upon the acceptance of an Individual Fidelity Bond Application which includes a criminal check and a credit check.

We wish to thank applicants in advance; only candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.
