Job summary

Framatome North America is seeking a skilled engineer to perform routine and non-routine tasks across design, development, analysis, testing, and field activities. You will ensure compliance with engineering standards and contribute to the life cycle of Framatome technologies, including start-up and commissioning at plant sites.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Engineering with 2+ years of related experience, strong problem-solving skills, and proficiency with essential software tools.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (4 years) with at least 2 years of related experience.
  • Knowledge of engineering standards, techniques and criteria.
  • Good communication to convey technical data.
  • Ability to work in a team and build relationships.
  • Strong problem identification and resolution skills.
  • Advanced level of software tools and programming skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and non-routine engineering tasks in design, development, analysis, testing, and field work.
  • Ensure compliance with government, organization and customer standards.
  • Independently apply standard techniques with minor adaptations.
  • Lead plant site work, start-up and commissioning.
  • Develop software design documents and test specifications.

What You’ll Do Day-To-Day
  • Performs routine and non-routine engineering assignments typically in areas of design, development, analysis, evaluation, testing, preparation of specifications, execution of field tasks and resolution of field problems.
  • Solves a range of straightforward problems, analyzes solutions and assesses each using standard procedures.
  • Receives assistance and instructions on unusual or more complex features and possible solutions, as needed.
  • Ensures compliance with government, organization and customer engineering standards.
  • Independently evaluates, selects and applies standard technical techniques, procedures, and criteria using judgement in making minor adaptations and modifications.
  • Builds knowledge of organization processes and customers.
  • Works on special projects, as directed.
  • Performs other related duties and tasks, as required.
  • Utilizes existing and/or acquired technical expertise to find improved technical solutions to support the product life cycle/replacement of current Framatome technologies.
  • Actively participates in solving technical issues identified by project management, business line management or by customer request with the objective to increase business opportunities for Framatome Canada Ltd.
  • Implement instrumentation and control (I&C) system architecture solutions for nuclear power plant applications.
  • Design process control solutions using various DCS/PLC/SCADA platforms such as Triconex, Foxboro DCS, Wonderware/Aveva, TXS, Siemens, National Instruments/Labview.
  • Lead team preparing detailed application, system, and hardware specifications based on project requirements.
  • Develop software design documents, requirement documentation, and test specifications
  • Solve a range of complex problems, analyze solutions, and assess each using standard procedures with minimal oversight.
  • Plan, organize, and implement a solution to address client's need ensuring compliance with government, organization, and customer engineering standards.
  • Lead plant site work - start-up and commissioning.
What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor’s Degree (4 years) in Engineering with a minimum of 2 years of related experience is required.
  • Knowledge of related engineering standards, techniques and criteria.
  • Good communication skills to comprehend and convey detailed technical data.
  • Ability to develop and maintain good interpersonal relationships; work collaboratively within a team environment.

Total Rewards Package
  • Salary: $99,000 - $110,000, and may also include annual incentives and performance bonuses. The base salary range is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.
