Kent is looking for I&C Commissioning Lead to support the team on SJLNG Project, remote work with site visits during preparation & planning, followed by site based role in St John, NB.

Skills and Responsibilities:

Responsibilities:
  • Supports the Pre-Commissioning Manager and interfaces with PE’s, CMT, MC, Start-Up, and Operations personnel on discipline-specific issues.
  • Direct supervisor of Instrument Discipline Specialists assigned to support site-wide activities and provides technical management and direction of Area Discipline Specialists and System Owners in the Systems Completion process against the schedules.
  • Provides discipline-specific technical, planning, and execution management support to the Area Commissioning Leads.
  • Manages all activities within the ISCT matrix organization collaboratively with other Discipline Leads and the Area Commissioning Leads.
  • Provides technical leadership and expertise to the core commissioning team and at Engineering and Construction interfaces.
  • Supports each Area and the TO/HO team at the interface and Turnover from Construction at Mechanical Completion and Handover of Systems to Operations.
  • Ensures equipment and systems are fully commissioned at Handover, compliant with project standards, specifications, and the Systems Completion Plan.
  • Directs ownership and management of all Static & Dynamic Commissioning activities leading to Handover and supports Start-Up and Acceptance Testing.
  • Identifies and manages discipline commissioning resource needs, tools, test equipment, plant, spares, etc.
  • Ensures appropriate resource levels and skills are assigned to meet schedule and execution requirements.
  • Manages and directs core teams of commissioning supervisors, technicians, vendors, and subcontractors across all plant areas.
  • Ensures proper completion of commissioning and Handover documentation.
  • Supports development and execution of Commissioning Plans and Schedules, and related procedures.
  • Manages activities to ensure safe and effective completion of commissioning and transition to operations.
  • Supports maintenance of the Systems Completion Database and progress tracking.
  • Reports on progress and performance metrics.
  • Contributes to development of Management Procedures, Acceptance Procedures, Turnover, and Completion Packages.
  • Ensures safety and environmental controls are observed during activities.

Additional ad-hoc tasks may be assigned as needed, within the employee's skills and role, to meet organizational needs.

Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience:
  • College/university degree and/or technical diploma with 15+ years of project completion and operations experience.
  • Proven track record supervising large teams through Mechanical Completion, Commissioning, Start-Up, and initial operations.
  • Good understanding of Fiber optic communication networks.
  • Strong technical skills in discipline subject matter.
  • In-depth knowledge of standards, specifications, codes, and safety criteria.
  • Understanding of project execution, engineering, construction, commissioning, and completion practices.
  • Knowledge of work planning, scheduling, and tracking.
Communication:
  • Excellent command of English, both oral and written.

  • Strong work ethic with a focus on delivery and organization.
  • Leadership and analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of project lifecycle execution.
  • Ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships.
