Job summary

Albert Bartlett is recruiting a Hygiene Operator for the night shift at our Airdrie facility. The role focuses on maintaining high hygiene standards across production areas, cleaning equipment, and ensuring compliance with food safety and health & safety requirements.

You will work Monday to Friday nights (22:00-06:00), support GMP practices, and contribute to a safe, clean working environment for colleagues across the production teams.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitise production equipment, machinery, utensils, parts and work areas.
• Carry out deep cleaning activities according to hygiene schedules.
• Adhere to colour coding procedures for cleaning equipment.
• Complete cleaning documentation, records and checklists accurately.
• Ensure correct dilution, handling and storage of cleaning chemicals.
• Follow COSHH, food safety and health & safety procedures.
• Wear and maintain PPE at all times.
• Support production teams in maintaining GMP standards.
• Assist during audits and inspections as required.

The Role

Due to continued growth, we are looking for a Hygiene Operator to join our night shift team at our chilled processed potato facility in Airdrie.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining excellent hygiene standards throughout the production and processing areas, ensuring all equipment, machinery and workspaces are cleaned and sanitised in line with company procedures, food safety standards and health & safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitise production equipment, machinery, utensils, parts and work areas.
• Carry out deep cleaning activities in accordance with hygiene schedules.
• Adhere to colour coding procedures for cleaning equipment.
• Complete all cleaning documentation, records and checklists accurately.
• Ensure correct dilution, handling and storage of cleaning chemicals.
• Follow all COSHH, food safety and health & safety procedures.
• Wear and maintain appropriate PPE at all times.
• Report any hygiene, safety, maintenance or quality concerns to management.
• Ensure cleaning cupboards, equipment and stores are kept tidy and organised.
• Support production teams in maintaining GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) standards.
• Assist during audits and inspections as required.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve hygiene and cleanliness targets.
