Aquatech Canadian Water Services Inc. is one of the largest private Canadian operations teams of Water and Wastewater treatment plants.

We are currently hiring a Hydrovac, Vacuum truck & CCTV Inspection Operator for a full-time position in Cochrane area, Alberta. Candidates must possess a valid Class 3 or Class 1 Drivers license in good standing with a valid Q Air Brakes Endorsement Certificate. The driver is required to have at least 3 years of driving experience with 5-ton trucks or larger.

Responsibilities

For this specific position, the applicant will be required to operate, complete minor repairs, and maintenance on the trucks they are driving. The Operator will also be required to report all major problems with the truck to the Special Services Supervisor.

Duties:

• Operate equipment as per Aquatech and customer expectations.
• Maintain equipment in accordance with Aquatech and manufacturer requirements.
• Follow the safety program, including all policies, procedures, and practices.
• Complete service reports, pre-trips, hazards, copies / pictures of training certificates.
• Report to Operations daily and notify them of any incidents or occurrences.
• Keep work area clean, tidy, and free of any hazards.
• Assist coworkers as required.
• Make sure tools and trucks are in good shape and not a hazard.
• Maintain safety tickets as required.
• Follow road ban restrictions.
• Participate in CCTV on-field activities.

Mandatory Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

• Read maps and use GPS to find sites and plants.
• Work with people from all backgrounds and with different personalities, to establish good communication and build relationships quickly.
• Pay attention to detail, surroundings, and use proper judgment as to when to report things to operations.
• Be a team player, show a strong work ethic, and work well on their own.
• Submit Service Reports & paperwork in a timely fashion.
• Take pride in their work and equipment.
• Take on a challenge and work in all types of weather.
• Relevant experience swamping on or operating sewer flushers or CCTV units.
• Demonstrate previous water, vacuum, flushing, and Hydrovac experience.
• Be able to drive both standard and automatic transmissions.
• Assist in maintenance and repairs to equipment.
• Be able to troubleshoot minor issues on the fly.
• Know axle weights and DOT regulations.
• Provide a minimum valid class 3 driver’s license with air, and an abstract that has no more than 6 demerits, no suspension due to impaired driving in the past 3 years, and no dangerous driving or undue care and attention convictions in the past 3 years. Need to be able to drive manual.
• Possession of current H2S Alive certification, Confined Space, Ground Disturbance, First Aid with CPR and AED would be an asset for this position.
• NASSCO PACP Certification and Inspection 101 (asset).
