Hydrovac Operator
Based out of High River, the Hydrovac Operator is responsible for performing activities relating to operation of Hydrovac Truck. They will also assist with labor duties in a safe, efficient and effective manner.
Duties and Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To:
- Operate Hydrovac Truck in residential, commercial and rural areas
- Operates assigned unit in a safe, professional and effective manner, carrying out assigned duties
- Responsible for basic maintenance of the Hydrovac Truck to maintain safe and optimal operation. Will keep assigned Unit organized, clean and presentable
- Responsible for the successful completion of hydro excavation projects including utility line exposure, debris removal, slot trenching, and digging
- Set up and inspect grounding and/or bonding procedures for Hydro-vac operation
- Manages the scheduling of work through requests from Site Supervisors and Foremen
- Prepare and coordinate safety tool box talks and complete pre-job hazard assessments
- Perform and maintains a daily log book as per Commercial Motor Vehicle Act
- Liaises with dispatch to determine daily work assignment(s)
- Complete all required paperwork properly and within set time lines
- Comply with Shawne and OH&S regulations
- Must be able to work independently and demonstrate a strong customer service focus
- General Labour duties and other activities at construction site as required
- Out of town travel will occasionally be required

- Teamwork and collaboration (work cooperatively and collaboratively with others)
Requirements
- Must possess a valid class 3 with Airbrakes, Class 1 is preferred, with a recent and clean abstract
- Minimum 3 years of recent hydro-vac, and related trucking experience
- Good verbal and written communication skills
Must Have the following tickets, skills, abilities and other requirement
- CSTS, Air Breaks, Ground Disturbance Level 1 and First Aid
- Knowledge of vehicle and equipment safety
- Strong work ethic
- Ability to work safely in a fast-paced environment
- Self-directed and self-starter with the ability to work with little supervision and as part of a team
Construction Safety Certifications including The Following Are Considered Assets
- Ground Disturbance Certification
- Confined Space Awareness/Rescue
- Fall Arrest
- WHMIS
