Aplin has partnered with aleading advanced manufacturing company who is seeking a Production Value Stream Manager. This position willoversee the safe, high-quality, and efficient production of complex electronic systems at its Dartmouth, NS facility. This leadership role is responsible for managing Production Supervisors and production teams, driving performance to meet volume, quality, and cost targets.

The successful candidate will lead daily operations, implement best practices, and collaborate across departments to ensure timely delivery of products and continuous process improvement. This position plays a key role in supporting operational strategy, resource planning, and team development.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Lead daily manufacturing operations to ensure on-time, high-quality product delivery to internal and external customers.
  • Develop and maintain accurate production schedules and forecasts.
  • Manage short- and long-term resource planning to meet operational requirements.
  • Resolve production shortages in collaboration with the Purchasing team.
  • Coordinate with Engineering teams to troubleshoot and resolve technical production issues.
  • Oversee production budgets and track financial performance.
  • Manage performance, engagement, and development of production staff.
  • Drive continuous improvement and implement LEAN manufacturing principles.
  • Support the launch and integration of new product lines in coordination with Production Engineering.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative relationship with union representatives.
  • Regularly report progress and key metrics to the Operations Director.
  • Conduct and lead daily / weekly team meetings to ensure alignment and accountability.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of the site’s Operations Strategy.
  • Champion change management and process improvements across production areas.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Required Qualifications :

  • Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing high volume / high quality manufacturing or production operations.
  • Must be eligible to obtain Canadian government security clearance and meet Controlled Goods Program requirements.
  • Preferred Qualifications and Skills :

  • Strong business acumen and decision-making abilities.
  • Effective problem-solving and ambiguity management.
  • Excellent planning, organizing, and project execution skills.
  • Proven leadership in directing and motivating production teams.
  • Experience with LEAN manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Background in defense, aerospace, or regulated industries is an asset.
  • Demonstrated success in hands-on technical problem-solving and customer interaction.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a team-focused mindset.
