Job summary

Ensero Solutions is seeking a Hydrogeologist to support groundwater assessments on resource development projects in Canada. The role includes data collection, analysis, and reporting, with fieldwork across BC and Yukon and opportunities to work remotely.

The candidate will design groundwater programs, develop models (MODFLOW/FEFLOW), and communicate technical results to clients and teams. Strong written skills and MS Office proficiency are essential.

Qualifications

  • Post-graduate degree in Geoscience or Engineering with a focus on Hydrogeology.
  • P.Geo or P.Eng designation, or ability to obtain within 1 year.
  • 1-3 years of related work experience in consulting or mining with hydrogeologic data collection and analysis.
  • Willingness to travel and participate in field programs in remote locations throughout BC and Yukon.
  • Excellent communication and technical report-writing skills.
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

  • Provide hydrogeological technical input to projects throughout Ensero.
  • Prepare data analyses and clear written reports of groundwater information.
  • Design and implement groundwater programs for contaminant transport and groundwater impact assessments.
  • Integrate groundwater inputs into geochemical and water balance models.
  • Conduct fieldwork including groundwater sampling, borehole drilling supervision and monitoring well installation, tracer studies, pumping tests, and packer tests.
  • Operate and maintain specialized field testing and monitoring equipment.
  • Develop groundwater conceptual models and both local- and regional-scale numerical models (e.g., MODFLOW, FEFLOW, Groundwater Vistas).
  • Produce factual and interpretive reporting of field data and site conditions.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve project goals and promote worker safety.

Hydrogeologist

Vancouver, BC; Saskatoon, SK; Whitehorse, YT; Remote; – Full-Time Permanent

About the Role

Reporting to the Manager - Hydrogeology, the Hydrogeologist is responsible for the collection, management and reporting of hydrogeology data for resource development projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide hydrogeological technical input to projects throughout Ensero.
  • Technical communications of groundwater data, including data analysis and report writing.
  • Study design and implementation of groundwater programs to support contaminant transport assessments, groundwater impacts assessments and remedial planning.
  • Integrate groundwater inputs into geochemical and water balance models.
  • Perform fieldwork on hydrogeological field programs including: groundwater sampling, supervision of borehole drilling and monitoring well installation, tracer studies, pumping tests, and packer tests.
  • Ability to operate and maintain specialized field testing and monitoring equipment.
  • Development of groundwater conceptual models.
  • Developed local-scale and regional-scale groundwater numerical models (i.e., MODFLOW, FEFLOW, Groundwater Vistas).
  • Factual and interpretive reporting of field data and site conditions.
  • Interface with other technical experts to achieve multidisciplinary project goals.
  • Monitor and promote environmental health and worker safety.
  • All other related duties as required.
About You
  • Post-graduate degree in Geoscience or Engineering, with a focus on Hydrogeology, or a related field.
  • P.Geo or P.Eng designation, or ability to obtain professional designation within 1 year.
  • 1-3 years of related work experience in consulting or mining industry, with demonstrable academic or job experience in hydrogeologic data collection and analysis.
  • Willingness to travel and participate in field programs in remote locations throughout BC and Yukon.
  • Excellent communication and technical report-writing skills.
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite.

$75,000 - $125,000 a year
