Job description

Klohn Crippen Berger’s Saskatoon office is seeking an Intermediate Hydrogeologist with experience in managing field investigations and monitoring programs for groundwater and environmental projects. Our project opportunities include hydrogeology and environmental services related to seepage management of tailings and water dams, mine water management, water supply, contributing to geotechnical designs for dams, geohazard assessments, contaminant hydrogeology, environmental compliance designs, and groundwater engineering. This role provides an opportunity for the successful candidate to diversify their technical capabilities and experience by being involved in projects locally in Saskatchewan, Alberta, and British Columbia, as well as internationally.

This role will give you the opportunity to:

  1. Join a dynamic team of motivated and hardworking professionals committed to delivering high-quality hydrogeological and environmental services.
  2. Develop your knowledge and technical skills in hydrogeology through practical experience, on-the-job training, and mentoring from experienced Hydrogeologists.
  3. Engage in both field and office-based hydrogeology work on projects such as tailings and water storage dams, mine water management, dewatering, water supply, slope stability, contaminant hydrogeology, and other environmental and engineering applications.
  4. Gain exposure to groundwater and hydrochemical analytical and modelling software packages.
  5. Provide input and be recognized for your contributions to the team and projects.
  6. Broaden your professional practice by working on multi-disciplinary engineering projects while maintaining your focus in hydrogeology.
  7. Travel to various field locations within Canada and internationally.

We want to hear from you if you have:

  1. A Bachelor's degree in Geology, Geological Engineering, Environmental Sciences, or Natural Resources, or a Master's in Hydrogeology.
  2. At least 6 years of demonstrated hydrogeological and field investigation experience.

  1. Willingness to travel and ability to work autonomously as part of a remote team environment.
  2. Experience designing, installing, and field testing wells for water supply projects, aquifer feasibility studies, dewatering/depressurization, and monitoring projects.
  3. Experience implementing and undertaking groundwater and environmental monitoring and sampling programs.
  4. Working knowledge of industry-standard software packages including AQTESOLV, AquiferTest, Surfer, and GIS software.
  5. Eligibility to become professionally registered in Canada.
  6. Strong initiative, innovation, and commitment to technical excellence, along with enthusiasm and drive for long-term success.
  7. Good verbal and written communication skills in English, including experience in writing proposals, technical reports, and project correspondence.
  8. Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and ability to build successful long-term relationships with project teams and clients.
  9. Understanding and application of health, safety, and environmental principles, and a commitment to quality management systems.
