Job summary

EXP in Ottawa, Ontario, is seeking a Senior Hydrogeologist to lead technical and client leadership across complex infrastructure and municipal projects. You will manage hydrogeological studies, coordinate field investigations, supervise staff, and support business growth.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years in physical hydrogeology, an Ontario designation, and strong reporting and communication skills for a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • University degree in Hydrogeology, Geology, or related discipline; Master’s degree is an asset.
  • 10+ years of experience in physical hydrogeology.
  • Strong field-based experience in groundwater investigations and assessments.
  • Ontario professional designation preferred (P.Geo. or P.Eng.).
  • Experience with ESA, excess soil or geo; French as asset.
  • Experience with groundwater modelling is an asset.
  • Proven success developing client relationships and contributing to winning proposals.
  • Hands-on experience with MECP, municipalities, and Conservation Authorities.
  • Ability to manage multidisciplinary projects and communicate effectively.

Hydrogeologist (Senior Member, Groundwater Team)

Location: Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.

Position Overview

Leading technical, project, and client leadership across a broad range of assignments including complex infrastructure and municipal projects.

Responsibilities
  • Partnering with clients to understand their needs and deliver practical, value‑driven solutions.
  • Leading and shaping scopes of work for public and private clients on small‑to‑large‑scale infrastructure projects.
  • Managing and executing hydrogeological studies such as groundwater resource development, construction dewatering programmes, pump test design, geothermal system assessments, sewer discharge agreements, and Permit to Take Water (PTTW) applications.
  • Project management and coordination of site investigation and compliance programmes.
  • Budget oversight, cost control, and invoicing.
  • Coordinating and supervising field programmes.
  • Reviewing and guiding the technical work of junior and intermediate staff.
  • Preparing and reviewing high‑quality technical reports.
  • Supporting proposal development and contributing to business growth.

Salary Range

Base salary range: $92,043 to $122,010. Compensation packages are based on factors including skill set, experience, certifications, and work location.
