Job summary

ANDRITZ Canada is seeking an Estimator and Proposal Manager to lead technical and commercial bids for turnkey hydroelectric projects. You will collaborate with specialists, ensure completeness and quality of submissions, and report to the Director - Proposals and Estimates.

Responsibilities include analyzing tender plans, preparing RFQs, managing bid strategy, developing schedules and budgets, writing in French and English, negotiating with partners, and ensuring a smooth handover to delivery

Qualifications

• Mechanical or Civil Engineering Technology diploma required.
• Minimum five years in proposal/sales, procurement or construction.
• Fluency in French and English.
• Project management skills to handle multiple complex tasks daily.
• Strong oral and written communication in a multi-stakeholder environment.
• Proven leadership within a team.
• Excellent problem solving and decision making skills.
• Commercial contract knowledge and negotiating ability.
• Knowledge of hydroelectric products, technical aspects and market is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Analyze plans, specs and commercial/technical tender clauses.
• Participate in bid strategy, risk assessment and clarifications.
• Prepare RFQs to suppliers and follow up responses.
• Contribute to risk and opportunity matrix.
• Create bid activity schedule and coordinate stakeholders.
• Lead internal bid management meetings and prepare preliminary schedules.
• Perform technical/financial calculations, cashflow forecasts, WBS and budgets.
• Write sections of proposals in French and English.
• Lead decision making on strategic issues within the team.
• Negotiate with external companies and form partnerships.
• Ensure smooth transition to delivery team after contract receipt.
