Job summary

KGS Group in Vancouver, BC is hiring an Electrical Engineer-in-Training to gain experience in hydroelectric projects across North America. You’ll work on electrical power generation, HV transmission, protection and control, and pursue a P.Eng. license with a multidisciplinary team.

Requirements include a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, 2–3 years of related experience, and strong communication skills. Travel to sites and a valid driver’s license are expected as part of project needs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from a recognized university.
  • 2–3 years of relevant experience, ideally in engineering consulting or utility.
  • Strong understanding of electrical machines and power systems theory.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Design low/medium/high voltage electrical systems including substations and protection.
  • Generate station grounding, short circuit, load flow and dynamic studies.
  • Prepare preliminary drawings, specs and construction drawings.
  • Collaborate with disciplines to meet quality, schedule and budget.
  • Travel to project sites as required.
