Job description

P.S.I. Fluid Power, a SunSource company, has extensive experience in mobile and industrial hydraulic servicing. We provide component repair, system troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, system commissioning, and system modification. Our service team has no boundaries, recently servicing equipment in North America, South America, Europe, and Asia.

The primary objective of this position is to provide technical services to our customers. This includes building, converting, and repairing hydraulic piston pumps and motors.

Essential Functions
  • Identify components to be repaired by manufacturer and part number and ensure model number is correct.
  • Inspect parts and various components. Determine if parts are re-workable. List all parts needed for repair that need to be ordered.
  • Identify the reason for failure and record findings.
  • Pull necessary parts for repair and verify that new parts are the same as the old parts and will interchange, clean all dirt from component, clean all gasket surfaces and O-ring surfaces and prepare component for assembly.
  • Assemble units according to manufacturer specifications.
  • Test repaired unit using manufacturer test specifications. If at any time component does not meet the specification, consult your shop foreman.
  • Make necessary adjustments to repaired unit.
  • Maintain a clean shop by sweeping, mopping, organizing, and other general duties necessary to keep shop clean.
  • Maintain a safe shop environment by maintaining an organized workstation and inspecting equipment before use.
  • Participate in continuous improvement through training and associate development.
  • Work efficiently with a team, set a positive example for new technicians, and guide them through repairs and training.
  • Assist in properly maintaining and operating the company's shop assets including the test bench, cranes, trucks, etc.
  • Assist in year-end inventory as required.
  • Stay current on our products as well as our competitors’ products and technology.
  • Double-check that the coding provided by the sales team is correct.
  • Assist in utilizing deadstock inventory during conversions or other opportunities.
  • You will be expected to actively participate 4 hours per quarter after hours in training.
Experience, Education and Skills
  • 3+ years experience with repairs and assembly of hydraulic components.
  • Ability to assemble and test power units / repair, convert and assemble all types of hydraulic components.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose mobile and industrial hydraulic systems.
  • Experience with components from Danfoss, Parker, and Amca is a plus.
  • Hydraulic theory and general troubleshooting experience would be preferred.
  • General computer knowledge (Word, Outlook, Excel).
