Job summary

BRIKERS in Maple Ridge, BC, is seeking a General Labourer to support rebuild and dismantle shops. This full-time role involves cleaning, maintenance and inventory handling, with a 40-hour week, Mon–Fri, 7:00am–3:30pm.

You will drive the company vehicle for parts pickups, assist with loading/unloading and shipping/receiving, and help maintain yard cleanliness. Forklift certification is an asset; willing to work outdoors in all weathers.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Class 5 driver license with clean abstract.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Ability to lift heavy objects repeatedly.
• Experience operating material handling equipment is a plus.
• Strong verbal and written communication.
• Forklift certification is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Part drop off and pick ups with suppliers.
• Remove all parts on outside dismantle pad, pressure wash, itemize and bin locate.
• Keep dismantle pad clean and organized.
• Box cabs for inventory.
• Garbage removal.
• Yard maintenance and cleanliness.
• Inventory control outside dismantle pad.
• Pressure washing all parts taken off machines.
• Wrapping and strapping parts to pallets.
• Assist shipping/receiving when required.
• Keep pictures and dimensions updated.
• Help unload equipment from low beds.
• Help load/unload parts from flat deck.
• Help load scrap trucks.
• Assist operators with rigging.
• Build pallets and crates.
• Safety operate equipment.

ABOUT BRIKERS

We’re fixers - we’ve been rebuilding heavy equipment components for over 20 years. We dismantle whole equipment such as excavators, wheel loaders and rock trucks on site, rebuild the components to their original specifications, and test them on our in-house test bench. POSITION SUMMARY

This position's primary responsibility is cleaning, maintaining, and supporting the rebuild and dismantle shops. The General Labourer will also be responsible for driving the company vehicle for parts pick ups, receiving products, and putting away inventory, in addition to general maintenance and clean up as required. This position is full-time.

This is a full-time position for 40 hours/week and 8 hours/weekday. Work hours are between Mon - Fri 7:00am - 3:30 pm.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Ability to lift heavy objects repetitively
• Ability to operate material handling equipment competently
• Effective verbal and written skills
• Ability to work with minimum supervision in a fast-paced environment
• Must be willing to work outside regardless of the weather
• Forklift certification would be an asset

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is regularly required to lift up to 10 pounds and up to 50 pounds. The vision requirements include close vision. The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions. The employee is exposed to moderate to loud noise environments and will be required to operate various heavy equipment, such as forklifts.
