Job summary

Alberta Blue Cross, an Alberta-based health and life services organization, is seeking an Intermediate System Analyst for a one-year temporary full-time role in a hybrid setup. The role focuses on gathering business requirements, designing, developing, supporting, and documenting Oracle-based applications, with weekly travel to Edmonton and Calgary.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of PL/SQL experience, knowledge of Java and Bash, and strong analytical and communication skills to work with IT

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
• 3-5 years hands-on experience in development, design and implementation of applications involving PL/SQL.
• Experience with Java and Bash desirable.
• Ability to write efficient, complex queries against very large data sets.
• Applied knowledge of Oracle development tools.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Understanding of IT Controls and SDLC best practices.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with multiple teams across the organization.
• Communicate effectively with your team, team manager and business customers.
• Contribute to your team's workload management.
• Maintain applications ensuring they are running properly and efficiently.
• Produce and maintain code (mostly PL/SQL) and documentation.
• Design, build and test change requests.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues.
• Assess root causes and recommend changes.
• Perform systems testing with IT and business customers.
