Job summary

WSP is seeking a Senior Environmental Planner in Ontario to lead environmental assessments and approvals for water, wastewater and stormwater infrastructure. You will direct multidisciplinary teams, mentor staff, and provide strategic guidance on permitting and infrastructure servicing strategies.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience leading environmental assessments and approvals for water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure.
• Experience delivering Municipal Class EAs, including Master Plans and Schedule B/C projects.
• Strong knowledge of Environmental Assessment Act, Endangered Species Act, Ontario Heritage Act, and related frameworks.
• Proven engagement with Indigenous Nations, regulators, and the public using traditional and digital methods.
• Strong project management with leadership of medium to large teams.
• Experience in business development and client relationship management.

Responsibilities

• Lead environmental assessments and approval processes for complex water, wastewater, and stormwater projects.
• Deliver Municipal Class Environmental Assessments, including Master Plans and Schedule B and C projects.
• Direct multidisciplinary teams to complete studies, impact assessments, and regulatory submissions.
• Design and implement engagement programs with Indigenous Nations, regulators, communities and stakeholders.
• Provide strategic guidance on environmental planning, permitting, servicing strategies, and feasibility studies.
• Strengthen client relationships, identify opportunities, and assist in proposals.
• Mentor team members through technical leadership and professional development.
• Champion health, safety, sustainability and quality in project delivery.
