Job summary

Englobe seeks an Intermediate Roofing Engineer to join our Building Science team in Ontario. You will deliver roofing and building envelope projects, offering practical, innovative solutions, while ensuring quality, safety, and timely delivery.

You will lead investigations, prepare reports, and mentor junior staff, with a focus on client relationships and multidisciplinary collaboration across the region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related discipline.
• P.Eng. certification in Ontario is required.
• RRO designation is considered an asset.
• At least 7 years in roofing design and building envelope projects.
• Strong knowledge of roofing systems, waterproofing, and building envelopes.
• Solid understanding of building codes and construction practices.
• Experience writing technical specs, drawings, and contract administration.
• Ability to manage multiple projects with budgets and schedules.
• Experience with roof investigations and lifecycle evaluations.
• Demonstrated leadership and mentoring ability.
• Excellent written and oral communication for client reports.
• Bilingual English/French is a strong asset.
• Valid driver’s license and vehicle for site visits.

Responsibilities

• Lead the assessment, design, rehabilitation, and replacement of roofing systems.
• Perform detailed condition assessments, roof inspections, and leak investigations.
• Prepare technical reports, specifications, and design packages for roofing projects.
• Provide technical leadership to project teams during plans and contracts.
• Oversee project delivery including scope, budget, schedule, and risk.
• Review shop drawings and contractor submissions for compliance.
• Handle contract administration tasks on-site.
• Collaborate with drafting and multidisciplinary teams on design drawings.
• Build strong client relationships with responsive service.
• Identify health and safety risks and promote safe practices.
• Mentor junior engineers, technologists, and staff.
• Contribute to business development through proposals and client engagement.
• Support multidisciplinary projects across building envelope, structural, and mechanical systems.
• Participate in field investigations and site visits; travel as needed.
