Job summary

McElhanney is seeking an Intermediate Project Controller to support the Industrial & Materials team across Western Canada. You will assist planning, forecasting, scheduling, earned value, reporting, invoicing, and commercial performance.

You'll work with project managers, specialists, and clients to drive informed decisions and successful delivery. This hybrid/remote position within British Columbia offers exposure to major industrial projects, with opportunity to grow in project controls,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent education with relevant experience considered.
• 5+ years in project controls, project accounting, cost control, scheduling or related roles.
• Strong budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, variance analysis, earned value and reporting.
• Experience with Microsoft Project or Primavera P6 and Excel proficiency.
• Understanding of revenue tracking, invoicing, and contract compliance.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain project schedules with MS Project and Primavera P6.
• Establish controls processes: baselines, budgets, schedules, reporting.
• Lead monthly reporting: financials, schedule status, forecasting, earned value.
• Prepare cost forecasts: ETC, EAC, cash flow, variance analysis.
• Monitor budgets, labour, revenue, subconsultants, margins, and commercial performance.
• Support client invoicing, revenue recognition, and AR reviews.
• Track scope changes and commercial commitments and impacts.
• Identify risks and drive corrective actions with leadership.
• Create dashboards and tools to provide meaningful project insights.
