Job summary

A leading engineering and consulting firm in Canada is looking for a Project Accountant to oversee financial management of various projects. You will work closely with project managers and account teams to ensure compliance with financial controls and provide excellent service. Candidates should have a background in accounting or finance, strong organizational and communication skills, and ideally some experience with Oracle. This position allows for partial remote work and is a great opportunity for recent graduates.

Qualifications

• Experience with Oracle preferred but not required.
• Must be organized, willing to embrace change and have a strong attention to detail.
• Excellent problem-solving skills are required.
• General accounting knowledge obtained through experience and/or education.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills (written and oral).
• Ability to identify potential implications of actions.
• Basic Microsoft Excel skills required with an intermediate level understanding preferred.
• Ability to independently review contracts and understand the contract terms.

Responsibilities

• Financial management of projects assigned by the Project Accounting Lead.
• Provide excellent customer service and a customer-centric focus.
• Build strong relationships with internal business partners.
• Independently organize and prioritize workload for timely completion.
• Collaborate with PM and PMA for an appropriate work breakdown structure.
• Prepare internal and external audit support.
