Convyta Partners is seeking an Actuarial Analyst/Associate to join our Pension consulting team in Burnaby, BC. The role offers a hybrid work model and a chance to build actuarial expertise with supportive colleagues.

We welcome candidates at the Analyst level and those with relevant experience for Associate. Bachelor’s degree in mathematics/actuarial science is preferred, with progress toward actuarial designation considered an asset.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Finance, Statistics, or related field.
• Progress toward actuarial designation is an asset.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills with attention to accuracy and detail.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Excel; programming skills are an asset.
• Ability to organize work, balance priorities and communicate progress to meet deadlines.
• Curious, practical approach to problem solving and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Support the pension consulting team with advisory services for clients.
• Perform technical analysis and calculations for valuations and benefit calculations with guidance.
• Prepare letters, emails, reports, and presentations.
• Communicate with service providers by phone and email; assist day-to-day client communications.
• At Associate level, perform peer review where appropriate.
• Develop understanding of pension plans and industry developments through client work and learning.
• Complete tasks within timelines and budgets; support internal initiatives.
• Attend client meetings and calls in a supportive role; travel as needed.
