Job summary

Thales Canada is seeking a Naval Architect Technologist / Life Cycle and Materiel Manager (LCMM) to support Royal Canadian Navy programs. The role involves technical oversight of hull systems for AOPS/JSS classes and is based in the Mill Bay/Malahat area with a hybrid work model.

You will provide subject matter expertise, lead investigations, prepare documentation, and coordinate with OEMs, ship staff and service delivery to resolve defects and implement changes.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2-year technical diploma in naval architecture or related field.
• Alternative trades: RQ-PO1/PO2, QL7, or QL6A/6B with marine focus.
• 8+ years of relevant marine/offshore experience in the last decade.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for hull systems and equipment deficiencies.
• Offer technical guidance to operate or maintain hull fittings and deck equipment.
• Investigate hull/marine system issues, perform failure analyses and recommend solutions.
• Develop and review specifications, installation and maintenance docs, tests and drawings.
• Assess obsolescence, plan alternatives and advise on material compatibility.
• Analyze baseline changes to ship configuration, equipment and software.
• Prepare work packages and cost estimates for customer approval.
• Coordinate with OEMs, service providers and ship staff to resolve defects.
