Job description

Imperial Dade Canada, leading national distributor, has a job open in our ProTech division in Dartmouth, NS, a Hybrid Local Driver and Warehouse Specialist. Imperial Dade is the leading distributor of foodservice packaging, facilities maintenance supplies and equipment in the U.S. As a provider of customized supply chain solutions, the company serves customers in many business-to-business market segments including supermarkets, healthcare facilities, universities, and restaurants. The hours and shift for this role are 8:00am to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities

Driver Responsibilities:

  • Driving delivery equipment within the surrounding areas responsible for delivering product to our customers in a safe and professional manner, on time and accurately.
  • Loading and unloading stock in a secure manner for safe, damage-free transportation
  • Verifying all orders at time of delivery and delivering orders to meet customer specifications
  • Ensuring equipment and truck are in good working condition through adherence to delivery maintenance procedures
  • Familiarity with the completion of delivery registers and paperwork to ensure stock is accounted for.
  • Must be flexible regarding work hours
  • Able to work extended hours, which may be required from time to time

Warehouse Responsibilities

  • Picking orders and loading trucks
  • Ensure that stock is loaded safely, accurately and efficiently
  • Report any discrepancies to the Lead Hand and/or Warehouse Supervisor
  • Assist with daily warehouse housekeeping tasks
  • Perform Daily Circle Checks on material handling equipment before being used and complete the Daily Circle Check Form

Qualifications

  • High school graduate and/or related experience.
  • Class 5 drivers License
  • Two years of professional local deliveries.
  • Previous warehouse experience required.
  • Current TDG/WHMIS knowledge would be considered an asset
  • Ability to use power loading equipment
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work as a team member
  • Good communication skills required (able to read, write and speak English)
  • Good understanding of computer and phone use.
  • Be able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Dependable and reliable
  • Good decision making skills and ability to work independently

Working/Other Conditions

  • Able to handle weight up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
  • Ability to work extended hours from time to time.
