Job summary

National Research Council Canada / Conseil national de recherches Canada seeks a Data Science Engineer to support the Digital Technologies centre in Ottawa. You will contribute to data analytics services for external clients and NRC, building ML models and data products.

The role collaborates with data scientists to design scalable architectures, data pipelines, and client-facing solutions while ensuring security and compliance in a multidisciplinary team environment.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or closely related STEM field.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering with related work experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with data scientists and client stakeholders to define technical strategies and implementation plans.
• Develop scalable, secure solution architectures for AI and data-driven technologies.
• Build and maintain data ingestion, transformation, storage, and access layers for ML and analytics.
• Package prototypes into client-facing solutions including web apps, dashboards, APIs, and containers.
• Lead development of key technical components ensuring alignment with project objectives and security.
• Troubleshoot data pipelines, integrations, and deployment environments.
