Job summary

Torys LLP is seeking a Data Analyst, Reporting to deliver accurate financial and business reporting and provide insights for clients and internal stakeholders. You will translate needs into clear reports and dashboards, supporting the firm’s decision-making processes.

The hybrid role requires Excel, SQL, Power BI and data extraction from accounting systems; you will work with lawyers and Business Services to ensure accurate, timely reporting and cross-training within the team.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary degree or diploma in Finance or Accounting, or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years of related experience, preferably in a professional services firm.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel with pivot tables.
• Working knowledge of SQL and Power Query in Excel; Power BI, MDX/DAX assets.
• Experience extracting data from a complex accounting system (3E is a plus).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; able to handle tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain complex financial and non-financial reports and dashboards for client, management and business needs.
• Prepare data from various sources for reporting and analysis in Excel, Power BI and other BI tools.
• Validate and reconcile reports, dashboards and underlying data.
• Prepare client reporting packages and matter management reports.
