Job summary

Bruce Grey Child and Family Services seeks a dedicated Child Protection Worker to provide protective services under the Signs of Safety model. Reporting to the Service Supervisor, you will assess risk, develop case plans with families and networks, and advocate for children’s safety.

You will manage court documents and participate in after-hours duties as needed. Requirements include a BSW/MSW or equivalent, 2+ years in trauma/child maltreatment, CPIN knowledge, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• BSW/MSW preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 2+ years full-time experience in trauma, mental health, family violence and child maltreatment.
• Knowledge of CYFSA, regulations and foster care standards.
• Excellent engagement and crisis intervention skills.
• Solid knowledge of CPIN and MS Office.
• Police check required and valid driver’s license with reliable vehicle.
• Ability to complete learning modules to become an Authorized CPW.

Responsibilities

• Receives and investigates maltreatment allegations.
• Develops case plans with families and collateral agencies.
• Conducts family-centered conferences with networks.
• Completes assessments and interventions to promote safety.
• Provides crisis intervention when required.
• Maintains ministry documentation and court papers.
• After-hours duty as required.
