Join Our Team as a Hybrid Caretaker!

We are seeking a dependable and professional Hybrid Caretaker to join our team at a residential building located in the Simon Fraser University area of Burnaby. In this dynamic role, you will provide a combination of caretaker and janitorial services, respond promptly to client needs, and ensure the smooth operation of daily activities. You will also assist students during move-in and move-out periods.

Key duties & responsibilities:

Site Maintenance: Manage and supervise the site. Monitor and maintain garbage and recycling room. Co-ordinate and supervise annual and seasonal building services and inspections.
Access & Security: Fob and enterphone programming.
Administrative Duties: Collect funds as directed, post notices, send emails, submit Caretaker reports.
Property Manager Relations: Consistent communication with the property manager to ensure the building is secure, maintained, and running smoothly.
Tenant Relations & Management: Respond promptly to tenant questions and requests. Report concerning issues with tenants/residents to PM.
Exterior Grounds: Litter pick entire exterior areas of the building, sidewalks, courtyard, and driveway ramps.
Floor Care: Sweep and damp mop hard surface floors with a neutral cleaner.
Entrance/Lobby/Common Areas: Clean door frames and disinfect door handles, polish entry code panels, vacuum walk-off mats.

Requirements:

  • Strong administrative skills an asset and required

  • Flexibility, availability, and the ability to address requests promptly

  • Janitorial experience an asset

  • Proven experience in janitorial and caretaker fields

  • Ability to multitask and handle high-pressure situations

  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills

  • Proficiency with basic computer applications (Microsoft Office, scheduling software, etc.)

Job Type: Full-time, Monday – Friday
Shift Timings: 8:00 am – 4:00 pm
Starting Date: August 1
Salary: $23 per hour

Experience:

  • Building Manager: 1 year (preferred)

  • Janitorial: 1 year (preferred)

  • Handyman: 1 year (preferred)
