Job summary

GTT in Canada is seeking a Security Specialist for governance, risk and compliance oversight within a regulated financial services context. The role focuses on independent remediation assurance, testing, and challenge across IT controls in a hybrid Toronto environment.

Your responsibilities include QA of remediation plans, advisory governance across three lines of defense, and leading an AI-enabled assurance transformation to improve risk reduction and evidence quality while adhering to data

Qualifications

• Very strong comms – written and verbal; key asset.
• 10 years as an IT Risk Specialist with governance, risk and compliance experience in regulated industries.
• Professional technology audit, risk, information security or technology control certification preferred (e.g., CISA, CRISC, CIA).
• Formal training or demonstrated competency in audit testing techniques, evidence evaluation, issue remediation validation, root cause analysis and control operating effectiveness.
• AI-enabled assurance transformation: lead design/implementation of AI-enabled capability for challenge and QA reviews.

Responsibilities

• Independent Remediation Assurance & Testing: conduct sample-based testing to validate remediation design, implementation and operating effectiveness.
• Advisory & Governance: provide guidance on IT risk governance, audit standards and GRC frameworks; raise awareness across the organization.
• AI-Enabled Assurance Transformation: lead design/implementation of AI bot to support challenge/QA reviews of remediation milestones and evidence.
