Job summary

Bombardier is seeking a Professional in Engineering, Materials and Processes to join the Aerospace Canada division at Marcel-Laurin Plant 1. The role targets experts with 5–10 years in aerospace/military production and solid knowledge of MIL specs, ASTM, ISO and SAE standards, plus familiarity with aluminum and other metallics.

Collaboration with Production, Methods, Quality & Logistics will be essential to resolve issues and drive improvements.

Qualifications

• Degree in Materials, Chemical or Mechanical engineering from an accredited university.
• 5 to 10 years of aerospace/military production experience.
• Knowledge of MIL specs, Federal regulations, ASTM, ISO and SAE specs.
• Familiarity with aluminum, steel and titanium materials and corrosion prevention.
• Experience with machining, forming, heat treatment, shot peening, and surface treatments.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Production, Methods, Quality & Logistics to resolve day-to-day production issues related to materials and processes.
• Lead R&D projects on environmentally compliant Materials & Processes; knowledge of REACH is a plus.
• Develop material qualification test plans, work with labs, analyze results, and write test reports.
• Review and approve engineering drawings and manufacturing technique sheets.
• Support process improvement and cost-reduction projects; highlight risks in a timely manner.
• Interact daily with Technical Experts, Professionals and Technicians.
