Job summary

Hitachi Energy Canada Inc. in Montréal invites a Master or PhD student in electrical engineering to join our HVDC team as an intern. You will contribute to system performance studies using RMS and EMT tools within a global, high-tech environment.

The internship lasts 6 months with a start in October 2025 (flexible). You will work full-time in a hybrid setup, liaising with an international engineering team on HVDC projects and power electronics challenges.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a master’s or PhD program in electrical engineering.
• Passion for electrical engineering and power electronics.
• Proficiency in French and English.
• Experience with high voltage equipment and electrical diagrams is a plus.
• Experience with RMS/EMT studies and HIL is highly valued.

Responsibilities

• Support the system performance team with RMS/EMT studies.
• Attend project meetings and present engineering topics.
